c.1949 Chein, No. 275 Mechanical Roller Coaster in Original Box

Outstanding example of Chein's classic figure-8 amusement park mechanical toy complete with both original cars and the original box.

Contrary to popular belief this toy was first manufactured in 1949, not the 1930's. Several litho versions were produced into the 1960's. This example with the black face "Play Baby Doll" ball throwing midway game is one of the earliest. You can find it lithoed on the reverse (open) side of the toy, on the first panel on the left.

Kaleidoscopic colors decorate every inch of this toy. A Circus Side Show, a Salt Water Taffy stand, a Hot Dog stand, loads of kiddies, and other "stuff" are everywhere. Yellow and red cars travel down a doubled figure-8 track and are then picked up by a rotating conveyor belt. The belts rotates while a swirled target spins, striking a yellow painted bell. It works beautifully and uses its original conveyor belt.

The original box is printed with a simple yellow and dark blue illustration on two panels. One end is still factory sealed.

Size: 20" long, 8-1/2" wide, 10" high.
